Hastings Sunrise: You Can Ride Here

Neighbourhood Cycling Celebration

June 11th from 11 AM - 2 PM at VanCity at Hastings and Kamloops

The strong character and sense of community in the Hastings-Sunrise neighborhood is best explored by bicycle!

The Lakeway, Adanac, and Sunrise Bikeways will enable you to reach your destinations in a breezy short ride. Whether your destination is the one of the area's numerous and diverse services, manufacturers, or retail stores, biking is an easy, fun, and healthy way to get there. Plus, it's good for the environment and helps reduce traffic congestion on the streets. This area of town boasts some fantastic views heading downtown and looking north

Ever found yourself driving for a short trip of only a few minutes for some shopping, recreation, or even just a coffee? If your trip is 3 km or less, chances are you can get there with a relaxed ride in 15 minutes or less. Door-to-door, cycling is not only easy, it's often the most efficient.

What's the best way to deal with hills? Ride often, regularly, and take your time. If you're not used to riding, don't push yourself, gear down and take it slowly. It's not a race; you don't have to prove how tough you are or how fast you can go. Enjoy. If you need help choosing a bike that works for view or download our handy brochure on Choosing a Bicycle and Accessories, or visit one of the local bikes shops. They'll be happy to help you select a bike that suits you needs and level.

You'll be surprised at quickly it becomes easier. You'll feel great! You'll be more fit and healthier. And you can reward yourself with a nice treat at one of the many coffee shops and restaurants.
